School is almost out: teacher gift ideas

School is almost out and it’s such an exciting time. This being the first year our son is going to camp all summer, instead of staying in preschool. Therefore about a month ago I started to mull over the idea of teacher gifts. He’ll be off to Kindergarten next year, so this is the last few weeks with these teachers and administrators. I wanted to do something a bit more special, but also not break the bank.

When it comes to teacher gifts, I often ask my mom friends what they are doing. The ideas range from gift cards to calendars for next year and both these gifts are awesome. Yet, why is it that I always feel the need to go above and beyond? By going above and beyond, I’m talking I want each teacher to have confetti cannons and when they open them they spray around the room. A huge ta-da moment. I want to make a statement and be different, but even more I want to say thank you in the most sincere and heartfelt way.

Instead of the confetti cannons, in the past I have done special teacher mugs from Esty with a gift card stuck in the middle. I’ve also done special chocolate candies from a local candy store (that gift wraps too!) – because who doesn’t like chocolate. This end of the school year I’ve decided to do something a little different. I’ve purchased gorgeous succulents from my local grocery store, inexpensive ($8.99!) and a great size. I’ve also found the perfect “tag” (on sale!) at Michael’s. I’m going to write a little note “thank you for helping me grow” on the tag and attach it to the succulent. I’ll also attach a separate thank you note to each teacher to ensure they know just how special this year was.

Whether I’m scrambling at the last minute or put months of thought into making it just perfect, finding the best teacher gift can be hard. What are some of the gifts you’ve given teachers?
