We all have limited time in the morning during the week. Between getting my son out of bed, fed, and dressed, it gets to a point where there is little time for myself to get ready. So little time, that I’ve figured I can do my makeup in three minutes using my go-to products, and feel good about myself as I rush out the door.
My base
I’m not big into the heavy foundation or contouring, especially when I’m giving myself three minutes. Instead, I start with a tinted moisturizer by Laura Mercier. It’s lightweight and easy to apply. With so many shades, it really matches my fair skin tone perfectly and doesn’t give that caked on feel.
Next, I apply a concealer under my eyes. From allergies to late nights, I have my fair share of dark circles. I prefer this soft matte complete concealer by Nars to anything else. I apply this under my eyes and sometimes on my eyelids for a pop of highlight.
With my base set, I move to one of my all-time favorite product that I basically can’t live without. Bronzer! True bronze pressed powder bronzer by Clinque is the perfect shade of sun kissed. It is lightweight and natural and you can apply as much or as little as you want to get that perfect sun kissed shade all over your face.
Time for the eyes
Finally, I turn to my eyes. I don’t wear eyeshadow during the day, but for a great nighttime shadow I prefer something with a sparkle and usually wear Luster Eyeshadow by Laura Mercier. However, for the daytime, I quickly put on a mascara and no frills here; I buy straight from the drugstore. Maybelline Full ‘N Soft Mascara is perfect to get the right amount of volume and length. Lastly, I touch up my brows with a great product, Sonia Kashuk’s tinted brow gel. Which, at the moment, I can’t find anywhere! This tinted brow gel is the perfect tool because not only are you combing and taming your brows, but your also putting a little color in there to define them. Just be careful not to use too much – otherwise, your brows will be all that anyone is looking at.
At the end of the day, I swear by these Neutrogena Makeup Wipes. They take all traces of the makeup, dirty, and grease of the day off. I prefer the unscented kind to wipe away everything and not have to deal with a smell after.
My morning makeup routine takes me about three minutes and using my go-to products makes it easy for me to apply and quickly run out the door. I’m sure you have a different routine or prefer different products. One thing is for sure though, we should all feel confident in the way we look no matter what products or routine or makeup we are using.
